Who We Are
Background
Houdacai was founded by a Florida-based electronics engineer with roughly 28 years of experience across instrumentation design, embedded systems, UAV ground control, and high-fidelity aviation simulation. That work included shipping production hardware and leading safety-critical software programs — environments where reliability isn't optional.
How We Work
The design process here is formal systems engineering. That means before a single requirement is written, the problem space is defined — who has the problem, what they're trying to accomplish, what constraints they're operating under, and what a good outcome looks like. Use cases come next, grounding the design in real scenarios before any architecture decisions are made. Requirements follow from that, architecture is validated against requirements, and nothing gets built until it traces back to a real need. Every requirement also traces forward to a test, so there's never any question about whether a feature works — it passes its verification criteria before it ships. It takes more effort up front, but it means every feature exists for a reason and every claim can be backed up.
Why These Products
Each product starts with a real need. CrankTrace began with a simple question: why should checking on an older outboard require a laptop on the dock or a trip to the dealer? Mindrive grew out of a close look at how binaural beats work — the effect depends on delivering a precise, separate tone to each ear, and getting that right is the foundation the rest of the app is built on.
The approach is the same across everything we make: understand the problem first, build things that hold up in real-world use, and release them when they're ready.
